Join Bella De Jac for two Teaser Workshops in the beautiful art of Silk Veil Fans for Burlesque!

2pm to 3:30pm: Beginner Silk Veil Fan

Whether rippling like waves or darting like a fish... silk fans are a dramatic style of fan dance and movement that when mastered, make the fan itself look alive.

Learn the basics of expressing yourself through the beautiful art of silk veil fans for Burlesque! With a rich history, silk fans are a dramatic style of fan dance and movement that is fun and high energy to perform while being mesmerising for the viewer. This 1.5 hour workshop will focus on both technique and expression, to explore the elemental nature of this apparatus.

Note: These workshops are not suitable for anyone with a recent shoulder or wrist injury.

Experience level: Beginner/Open level

What do bring: Please wear comfortable clothing that helps you clearly move your shoulders and arms, preferably tight fitting.


4pm to 5:30pm: Intermediate Silk Veil Fan

In Intermediate Silk Fan we dive deeper into both layering techniques to create exciting choreography, as well as the emotional connection we have with this apparatus and how we can channel our expression through our fans. Explore the ways you can master the art of silk fan manipulation, by embracing the constant variance of ebb and flow that is intrinsic to silk on air.

Note: These workshops are not suitable for anyone with a recent shoulder or wrist injury.

This class is open to students of any genders, ages and body types with previous silk fan experience.

Experience level: Intermediate

What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothing that helps you clearly move your shoulders and arms in, preferably tight fitting.
