At Maison Burlesque, we believe it is important to get experienced teachers to assist and mentor you through the solo performance process. Now, as you begin this journey, Maison Burlesque is here to guide you through you first solo development process!

We’ve recently launched a massive Solo Performance Program for those looking to step onto the stage as a soloist for the first time! Separated into two groups for Friday or Sunday openings, this programme will guide you through:

1. Stages of Act Development, Storyboarding, Character, Music & Costume

2. Exploration & Experimentation. Taking the act to the next level.

3. Performance Workshop & Peer Review

4. Live Performance at Solo Showcase at Howler

INTAKE 1: Commencing 31st January or 2nd February 2025 for performance on 30th March [SOLD OUT]

INTAKE 2: Commencing 11th or 13th April for performance on 15th June- Applications Now Open!

Working on a new act or show and looking for guidance?

Book a 1:1 private coaching session to pick the brains of Maison Burlesque owner and seasoned industry professional Poppy Cherry! Poppy has over 15 years experience in the burlesque industry and has worked extensively in many roles including but not limited to: performer, MC, stage manager, booking agent, producer, studio owner and venue owner.

This session is perfect for anyone looking for:

• Guidance in the early stages of solo act development - music selection, conceptualisation and planning, including advice on who to approach for further act development assistance.

• Spit & Polish of an existing or developing act to help refine the act and enhance performance skills and audience engagement.

• General burlesque business advice: setting yourself up as a sole trader, understanding the industry and working with producers, performer persona development branding and networking

• Advice regarding event production and producing.

At Maison Burlesque all our esteemed instructors are available for one-on-one burlesque or dance lessons, private tuition and act development.

Rather than run a rigid solo development course, at Maison Burlesque we encourage budding soloists to seek mentorship from one (or more) teachers, and work at a pace that best suits each individual.

Each of our instructors has a unique skill set, and they can offer you advice, instruction, and tips on developing and furthering your solo routines for burlesque.
