Learn technical choreography in the traditional showgirl style and develop your skills as a dancer and performer. This fast paced workshop is suited to those with prior dance training, or those up for a challenge! There will be a strong focus on lines, ensemble work, audience engagement and creating that x-factor in your burlesque performances.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of burlesque experience and will help you develop confidence, character and pure sensuality as you learn from the reigning Miss Burlesque Victoria herself. You will learn a simple classic burlesque routine and focus on bringing the femme fatale through face, body and characterisation. Students are encouraged to dress for the occasion in dance wear or lingerie that makes them feel unstoppable.

About your instructor:
A classic burlesque artist from Melbourne, Velma Vouloir is the golden-age glamazon with a penchent for seduction and all things quintessentially showgirl! Taking the burlesque world by storm in 2017, she has already a string of accolades under her garter belt including Miss Burlesque Victoria 2018 & Miss Burlesque Australia - Miss Classic 2018.
An established dance & aerial arts instructor - Velma has trained & performed extensively in classical, commercial, lyrical & broadway jazz, pole, & aerial hoop. She has nearly ten years of teaching experience under her belt, teaching both in Australia and internationally. She believes everyone has the right to dance & move unapologetically and has a passion for creating nurturing, fun and challenging classes for her students.
