About Your Instructors:
Maison Burlesque owner and school headmistress, Poppy Cherry has been a regular fixture on the Melbourne Burlesque scene both on and off the stage since 2009, and is known for her energetic, theatrical take on classic burlesque.
Poppy has extensive experience running burlesque workshops and classes, and always creates a fun, warm learning environment. Poppy Cherry brings the spirit of burlesque to life in her classes with her vivacious nature and extensive experience as a performer. As a teacher she always encourages her students to grow, providing them with the support and patience they need to blossom. Her students can expect a great balance between fun and hard work to help them advance their skills.
Like a good malt, Whisky Falls will warm the cockles of your heart with her unique blend of fire and finesse. Her blend of dance techniques, dramatics and styling will keep audiences' palates wanting more than just on wee dram.
After training in dance from the tender age of three, Scottish born Whisky found her way to London, England to study Dance and Musical Theatre at one of the UK's leading performing arts institutes. After working with various dance companies, Whisky found herself drawn into the ever curious and evolving world of cabaret.
With years of professional dance teaching under her belt (Bird College, UK for 7 years) Whisky has developed signature teaching methods that she has transferred into burlesque, and mentors fellow performers via workshops, classes and one-to-one online.
